Age: 25

Sex: male

Date: 4 Jul 2017

Place: Mary Street, Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire

Kyle Bell was stabbed in an alleyway off Mary Street in Scunthorpe in the early hours of Tuesday 4 July 2017.

The police were called out at 2.05am following reports that a man had been assaulted and found paramedics treating another man but did not notice Kyle Bell until a short while later when they were informed that Kyle Bell was in an alleyway. When they went to see him they found that he was seriously injured.

He was taken to the hospital but died at 3.36am the same morning.

The other man, a 21-year-old, was described as having serious but not life-threatening injuries.

Kyle Bell was identified soon after by his tattoos.

It was reported that Kyle Bell had earlier gone to another house with a friend but that an altercation broke out and Kyle Bell had run off. He was next found stabbed in the alleyway.

His post mortem revealed that he had died from a stab wound to the chest.

Several arrests were made following his death but no charges were made. The police also raided a property in Barton in mid-July in relation to the murder investigation resulting in several people being detained but without any major developments.

During the examination of the crime scene the police closed off parts of Mary Street and Henry Street as well as a number of the nearby tenfoots. The police also took a taxi away with them on the back of a recovery vehicle for forensic examination.

It was also reported that refuse collections in the area were also stopped at the request of the police.

Kyle Bell was stabbed two days before he was due to appear at Grimsby Crown Court on charges of aggravated burglary.

He had previously been sentenced to 16 months in prison in January 2015 for dangerous driving, driving while banned, driving while unfit through drugs, having no insurance and possessing crack cocaine.
